McDonald’s Japan Happy Meal Tomica

It is a known fact that Japan always get the cool stuff. What some of us don’t know is, that applies to McDonald’s Happy Meal (or just Happy Set, as it is known in Japan). In commemoration of Tomica’s 50th anniversary, Happy Set sold starting April 17 will include a Tomica toy vehicle.

Among the toy vehicle offered are Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 Earth Grand Runner Version and a flaming red fifth generation Toyota Supra – complete with light-up headlights function.

The GT-R is even cooler. It comes with “key” that, when inserted to the rear, allows you to propel the toy car forward.

Altogether there are 8 toys in the lineup plus a mystery vehicle. The Takara Tomy toy car gift is divided into two sets.

The first set is offered from April 17 to April 30, while the second set will be available from May 1 to May 14. The Nissan GT-R belongs to the first set and the Toyota GR Supra, exists in the second set.

In addition, Toyota GAZOO Racing has released a Toyota GAZOO Racing x McDonald’s collaborative movie, entitled Drift Twins, featuring D1 Champion (2008/2016) Daigo Saito and drifting legend, the first D1 Champion, Nobuteru Taniguchi.
