OK. This one’s a bit of a throwback—to 2023, to be precise—but man, if it can still put a smile on faces, it’s news if you haven’t already heard it. What you see here is a bomber jacket that would make even Bruce Wayne go, “Why didn’t I think of that?!”
Designed and crafted by Japanese-based designer/tailor MEMENTOMORI, the MEMENTOMORI 2023 Batman Bomber Jacket, as it is called, is no ordinary outerwear. It transforms into a full Batman costume—well, at least the upper part—complete with cowl, mask, and cape. It even has “spikes” that can be attached to the arms to recreate the Batsuit’s gauntlet fins.
So cool. And somewhat silly at the same time. And most likely put a smile on faces. I know I was humored.
I mean, it looks puffy—not sleek like the actual Batsuit—but hey, Bruce Wayne could take notes. It’s doable. Except maybe don’t count on the cape for gliding. It’s more of a ticket straight to the ground.
The jacket, while puffy, isn’t lacking in details. It has all the appropriate armor lines and whatnot. We don’t know if it was ever put up for sale, and in any case, that was like two years ago—so I’m not expecting it to be available even if it once was.
