time traveling, though fascinating, is never going to be reality anytime soon but still, there is a way that will let you ‘travel back in time’ via the good old digital photographs. of course, you can’t be taking snapshots of whatever you are doing every now and then, instead a tiny device dubbed as the Memoto Lifelogging Camera will be at your service, capturing stills automatically every 30 seconds. all you have to do is to charge it up, clip to your shirt and it will take care of the rest. hard specs include a 5.0-megapixel sensor camera with GPS position logging and time-stamping capabilities, built-in rechargeable battery good for up to two days in between charges, an LED battery life indicator, a built-in accelerometer to ensure that the images are captured correctly regardless of how the Lifelogging Camera is worn and last but not least, a micro USB for charging, as well as connecting to your computer, where it will automatically upload the photos taken to Memoto Web Service.

the web service, is kind of like a backup for your captured stills where the contents are cataloged by time, date, place and even lighting conditions to facilitate ease of search and sharing. users will be able to access their moments via an iPhone or Android apps. available in a choice of colors, including Graphite Grey, Arctic White and Memoto Orange, the Memoto Lifelogging Camera will set you back at $279 a pop but for now you can snap one for a special price of $199 and up via Memoto’s Kickstarter page and that’s including a year of Web Service subscription. check out a product video after the break.

[UPDATE October 04, 2013] the Sweden-based Memoto is now known as Narrative (due to trademark conflict, so we heard) and the lifelogging device Memoto is now known as Narrative Clip. if you miss the product’s Kickstarter campaign, you can get it now for $279 a pop.
