Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater Trailer

Good news for fans of Metal Gear Solid! The Snake lives on in a new PS5 game called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. At the recent PlayStation Showcase, Konami and PlayStation dropped the announcement trailer for the latest MGS game which focuses on the origin story of the iconic military operative Snake. There’s really nothing much to say here.

In the 2-minute-plus trailer, viewers are treated to a jungle scene in an unknown location. For the most part, the trailer seems to depict the lifecycle of a jungle, starting with an army of ants feasting on a fallen jungle frog before it was snatched by a parrot.

The bird’s flight takes viewers above a beautiful jungle. We saw it fly through a crack in a broken and then we hear gunshots. Not sure why, it is a bird but it chose to fly through the small opening and not just over the fence. Perhaps for the sake of cinematic effect?

Anyhoo, while enjoying its meal on a fallen log in a middle of a river, the bird gets attacked (from the most awkward angle possible, if I may add) by what appears to be an anaconda which led us to assume this is set somewhere in the amazon.

As the giant serpent attempt to close its jaws on the avian creature, it was interrupted by a super size crocodile. A battle between the reptiles ensues which the camera follows for a bit before making the way across the river into the swampy area.

Further into the swamp, with a thunderstorm brewing overhead, we heard a faint water movement, and then a familiar silhouette emerge moving through the water. It was Snake! Cue the game soundtrack with a 007 vibe as the camera pan skywards.

So did the announcement trailer reveal anything? Probably nothing. If anything, perhaps it just points out that our beloved Snake is at the top of the food chain. Anyways, enjoy the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater announcement trailer below.
