honestly, a smartwatch that works with your smartphone is not something new but one that look as good as the MetaWatch STRATA is far and few between. the STRATA acts as an extension to your iPhone 4S and Android smartphones, utilizing Bluetooth 4.0 technology to wirelessly communicate with the smartphone and relays its incoming calls, text messages, emails, Facebook notifications, Twitter messages, discreetly via vibration. thus, saving you the hassle of digging out your phone, in the event that the alert is not of any importance. the face of the watch is configurable with on-screen widgets such as weather with tide information, number of steps you took, calendar et cetera – all display on a sunlight-friendly 96×96 mirror polymer network display. since it is not an LCD display, an LED front-light can be illuminated to read the display in low light or dark condition. other features include lost phone alarm, integrated running and cycling app, music control, water resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM), built-in three-axis accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a built-in rechargeable battery that last up to seven days upon each full charge. as for its construction, it is made of double injection molded PU (co-molded with PC body), mineral hardened glass lens with anti-glare coating and a titanium finished stainless steel top ring completes its aesthetic department. the MetaWatch STRATA is available via Kickstarter with a minimum of $159 or more. check out a short pledge video available after the break to learn more about this awesome watch.
