The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed you see here smells like pizza and it is so not because someone held it with their pizza-smeared hands. It is intentionally designed to emit the scent of a New York slice. The controller will offer the perfect immersion when playing games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge available with Xbox Game Pass.
But it is not the game’s merch; the Xbox controller is launched with Paramount Pictures to promote the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Pizza-scented Controller is the world’s first and it is designed to deliver the smell of the Turtles’ beloved meal when you are gaming.
Right off the bat, the controller looks nothing like a regular controller. It has a scent diffuser on the back of the control, shaped like a pepperoni pizza. This pizza scent diffuser also doubles as the controller’s battery cover and is powered separately by 3 AA cells.
To use, you will need to insert the batteries and put on the battery cover/pizza scent diffuser to the controller. After which you will need to introduce a drop or two liquid from the included perfume vial into the central pepperoni that has a cotton pad in it, and voila! random hints of pizza smell as you play your game.
The controller comes in four variations, one each for Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, featuring the individual character’s signature colors, weapons, and personality.
Before you turtle fans go ga-ga over this awesome Xbox controller, you have to know it is not for sale. It is only available through a sweepstakes. Fans can enter to win the wireless controllers by following Xbox Game Pass on Twitter (now, X) and retweeting (or reposting, now that it has changed its name to X) the official Xbox Game Pass sweepstakes tweet (i.e. post).
