If you believe in the more pixels in an imaging sensor the better, then you are going to love the new Motorola Moto X30 Pro Smartphone. The Motorola Moto X30 Pro, which was revealed last week with the new Razr folding phone, packs the industry’s first 200 Megapixels (!) camera sensor. That’s not a typo. It’s really 200 MP.
The sensor is a Samsung HP1 1/1.22” sensor touting 2.56 µm, PDAF, OIS, and is capable of 8K videoing at 30 fps. The 200 MP sensor is bolstered by a self-developed “smart super-resolution mode” that offers even more details in captured still images.
The 200 MP sensor is accompanied by a 50 MP 117° super-wide-angle/macro camera with 2.5 cm AF macro 1.28 µm, and a 12 MP SONY IMX663 1.22 µm sensor paired with ƒ/1.6. This camera is capable of 2x telephoto and further boasts high-definition portrait mode with so-called golden focal lengths, namely 35/50/85 mm.
Around the front, it has an unusually large MP camera unit too, a 60 MP 1/2.8” sensor paired with an ƒ/2.2 lens.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, paired with “Turbo” LPDDR5 and “Turbo” UFS 3.1, and it has a very capable display too, a 144 Hz 6.7-inch FHD+ dual curved display featuring 1 billion colors, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, HDR10+ support, 10bit color management, and has up to 1,500 Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate.
Under this display is a now industry-common under-display fingerprint sensor. Also under the hood is a 125 W wired flash charge – the fastest charging even in a moto phone – that will take the 4,710 mAh battery to 50% in just 7 minutes. It is supplied with a 125 W GaN charging brick. There is 50 W wireless charging and 10 W reverse wireless charging too.
Other notables include a super narrow 1.8 mm aerospace-grade aluminum frame, a full symmetrical 53° curved surface, Dolby Atmos, X linear haptic motor, and a 19,400 mm2 area of heat dissipation, featuring multi-dimensional VC cooling, and no less than 7 temperature sensors.
The device is also marketed as a globetrotter’s device, supporting 14 5G frequency bands and 49 global mainstream frequency bands.
The new Motorola Moto X30 Pro is available in three configurations: 8+128, 12+256, and 12+512, and it is now available in China with a starting price of 3,699 RMB (or around 545 American dollars).
