Motorola has been busy churning out new handsets recently and the latest handset to be announced is the Motorola XT860 4G Smartphone announced by Motorola Mobility Canada. the XT860 4G will be available soon exclusively through Bell Mobility in Canada. this Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbred) powered handset is touted to be the world’s thinnest QWERTY Slider Smartphone, measuring just 12.9-mm thin, along with a 63.9-mm width and 123.3-mm length.

the XT860 4G is equipped with a QualComm and TI 1.0 GHz dual-core processor, a large 4-inch “quarter High Definition” TFT display, and of course, a touch QWERTY keypad. the latter features a 5th row that enables user to easily type responses to emails. the imaging and videoing aspect is taken care by a 8.0-megapixels rear-facing autofocus camera with LED flash, and a VGA front-facing. the handset also features a built-in FM radio receiver, as well as playback of various music and video formats. connectivity includes a 3.5-mm jack, USB 2.0 HS, HDMI out, BOTA, Bluetooth and it is DNLA certified too. so it should work in sync with your other DNLA certified equipments.

the handset itself features a 16-GB onboard storage with additional storage via a supped 8-GB micro SD card (expandable up to 32-GB). like any good modern day smartphone, it also comes with host of sensors like the accelerometer, ambient light and proximity sensors. finally, the phone draw its juice from a 1,540 mAh battery which is good for 580 minutes of talk time, and up to 240 hours of standby. other features include support for aGPS, sGPS, as well as eCompass. wrapping up the package is a business-friendly security, pass protection and encryption features. press release after the jump.
