After dropping the first teaser trailer for the new Pacific Rim anime earlier this week, Netflix has shared the series’ first official trailer which let us have a good look a couple of the giant monsters and the Jaeger (damn, it’s colorful!) the sibling found and learned to pilot.
“There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.”
There are a quite bit to take in with this first trailer, including a hint of another Jaeger not piloted by the protagonists. That said, I can’t imagine Netflix dropping any more trailer running up to the series streaming on March 4th. It will just giveaway too much plot.
Anyhoo… is it just me or this particular Jaeger has a head that looks like Master Chief’s helmet from the video game Halo?
