On January 28, LEGO announced that it has inked two separate collaboration deals. One with Universal Brand Development to expand their licensing relationship to include Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious franchise and another with Italian supercar maker Automobili Lamborghini.
In both instances, LEGO will be turning building sets under LEGO Technic brand which are targeted at older kids and adults. The LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set , which is for ages 10 yeas and above, is expected to hit the stores worldwide starting April 27, 2020.
On what I believe to be on the high-end of the two collaborations, is the LEGO Technic Lamborghini. This new 1:8 scale set will become the third model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate series, after the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in 2016 and the Bugatti Chiron in 2018.
So, expect this set to be super detailed down to the transmissions, differentials and gearing systems. However, in both cases, no details of the models elected to be immortalized as LEGO set are offered.
Anywho, the LEGO Technic Lamborghini model is set to be available starting June 1, 2020 at LEGO Brand Retail Stores and LEGO Online Store, and “more widely” starting from August 01, 2020. Until the aforementioned dates draw closer, information will remain sketchy.
