This probably the biggest news for today. Earlier today, on June 22, Paramount Pictures officially revealed the 7th live-action Transformers movie. A new live-action Transformers is no surprise. The real surprise here is, the plot and the characters.

The official tagline is Rise of the Beasts. That’s right. It is Beast Wars, well, sort of, in a live-action Transformers film. Now, that’s unexpected. For a few weeks now, we have heard shooting is happening in Canada and so, the notion of Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons, naturally did not cross anyone’s mind.

But yeah, some characters from the Beast Wars, including the likes of Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Airazor and more will be featured.

As far as the movie goes, the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will let us in on how Optimus Prime came to be the leader of Autobots in the Bayverse. How that get mixed with Beast Wars‘ characters is not clear.

From the reveal we read, it sounds rather convoluted. Then again, Transformers never have an official version of how these transforming aliens came to be on Earth. So, by now, we should be used to it.

The film is directed by Steven Caple Jr. (The Land, Creed II) with big names like Steven Spielberg, Dana Goldberg and more as the executive producers.

Those who attended the event are not allowed to share images. However, you can read more in a detailed report on TFW2005 HERE and HERE.
