NEXUS VII. × G-Shock Exclusively For UR

Here’s an interesting edition of G-Shock watch not you probably won’t be able to get outside of Japan. It is a collaborative G-Shock timepiece by NEXUS VII. and Casio G-Shock for Japanese label, Urban Research.

The NEXUS VII. x G-Shock Exclusively For UR, which is based on the popular DW-5600 model, gets the military treatment much like the G-Shock Street Utility Military Series and the G-Shock x Herschel watch we have seen previously, but with a much more minimalistic approach.

Featuring a military olive colorway, the watch is largely void of logos and branding – with the exception of the debossed G-Shock branding and the word “protection” found on all G-Shock timepieces.

The watch face, too, is very minimalistic. It has no other distraction other than time telling essential info from the LCD and the necessary lettering which are done in fonts as specified by NEXUS VII.

Other highlights include the obvious guard protector to further protect the watch for external impact, backlit reverse liquid crystal for low-light legibility, NEXUS VII. branding engraved on case back and finally, it comes packed in a super minimalistic white packaging with information of its content in a very military manner.

Even if you have access to the Japanese market, you probably can’t get it at this point as it appears to have sold out. And why wouldn’t it be? I mean, not often you will come across a G-Shock watch that is this minimal while bearing the military vibe.

NEXUS VII. × G-Shock Exclusively For UR was available in limited quantity from Urban Research and NEXUS VII. website last month. But, like I have said, it appeared to be sold out. We can’t locate it at either store.

It had a selling price of 20,900 yen (or about U$196).
