Nikon Z 30 Mirrorless Camera

Let’s be honest. Almost any imaging device is good enough for content creation and vlogging. But that does not stop camera makers like Sony and now Nikon from selling creators and vloggers a camera designed specifically for video content creation, vlogging, and streaming. Nikon’s pitch for content creators is the Nikon Z 30.

Billed as the lightest Z-series camera yet, the new Nikon Z 30 mirrorless camera boasts a 20.9 APS-C/DX-format CMOS sensor for capturing beautiful, sharp video of up to 4K UHD at 30p and FHD slow-mo at up to 120p.

The sensor also touts super low light performance with video ISO as high as 25600 and 51200 for photos. It further features a 3.0-inch flip-out vari-angle touchscreen display, and a long 125-minute video recording time so you can get it all in one take.

Other highlights include reliably fast and sharp autofocus, Eye Detection AF, built-in stereo microphones, additional input for exterior mic, records on SD cards, ability to run on an external USB-C power source, always connected to your phone, and REC lamp at the front of the camera so that you know that it is recording.

Perhaps most importantly for vloggers, the Z 30 is super lightweight, tipping the scales at 12.4 oz. or about 350g. And it is compact too, measuring 5.1 inches by 2.9 inches and 2.4 inches (128 x 73.5 x 59.5 mm).
