I believe at this point, those who wanted a Nintendo Switch would have gotten one. But if you have not already, or looking for a reason to upgrade to the OLED model, well, Nintendo presents you the reason to do so: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Mario Red Edition.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model Mario Red Edition is the good’ol Switch OLED first introduced in October 2021 but in an irresistible red colorway. The system features a console, dock, and Joy-Con controllers in the iconic Mario Red color.
But quite obviously, the color alone won’t cut it if you want to associate it with the Italian plumber-turn-hero. So, around the back of the dock, you will find a silhouette design of Mario jumps. Very minimal but very tastefully implemented.
That’s not it. Removing the back cover of the dock will reveal a bunch of coins. Sweet. Though I have to admit, the color, the silhouette of Mario jumps, and the hidden coins, are design touches that only Super Mario fans will be able to appreciate. I mean, not every day you will turn around the console and admire the back, do you?
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model Mario Red Edition is set to release on October 06, 2023. Meanwhile, eager fans can secure a unit by pre-ordering from Nintendo.com and Amazon.com for US$349.99.
This is not the first Mario-themed Switch, by the way. The was a Mario Red & Blue Edition Switch released to mark the 35th anniversary of Mario in 2021.
