Beats fans who long for a wireless solution when working out without having cups on or over their ears can look forward to the second generation Powerbeats, simply dubbed Powerbeats2 Wireless. designed for active lifestyle users, you can expect the obligatory sweat and water resistant properties (IPX4 rating, if you really must know) on top of its lightweight and durable construction. our experience with Beats with regard to build does not contradicts the manufacturer’s claim, though we can’t say the same for the audio reproduction. however, it is too early to past any judgement since we have yet to audition the Powerbeats2. drawing inspiration from LeBron James, Powerbeats2 packs a tiny rechargeable battery offering up to 6 hours of continuous playback, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-driver acoustics and the usual Beats’ good look.
there is also a quick charge feature where a 15-minute recharge will yield an hour of non-stop playback for times where you can’t live an hour without music. it has a tangle-free cord bridging the left and right ear buds, while an over-mold design allows for no-slip grip when using the inline RemoteTalk. last but not the least, flexible earhooks providing comfortable and secure fit rounds up the package. available in three colors: black, red and white, the Beats Powerbeats2 Wireless Earphones will be available at select retailers this month, with full roll out anticipated to happen in beginning of July. expect to shell out good money, i,e $199.95, for one of these. well, the price shouldn’t quite surprise you, should it? cos’ it is, after all, the Beats that made a killing with Apple.
