Taking pictures and videos with a smartphone is convenient and swift but the grip is mostly precarious. I mean, holding the phone at the edge isn’t the best experience, isn’t it? Enters Shiftcam ProGrip, a nifty accessory that adds a camera-style grip to your smartphone and then some.
Shiftcam ProGrip is compatible with all smartphones, including the iPhone 14 series. The Shiftcam ProGrip is the “pro” version of the brand’s SnapGrip that boasts, well, a host of upgrades.
For starters, the new ProGrip has a more ergonomic grip inspired by the battery grip of a DSLR, allowing for a more camera-like imaging experience. The curved grip is designed to cater to the length of each finger and it has a rounded back that evenly distributes the pressure exerted by the palm.
The grip is complete with a thumb rest as well as a wireless shutter button. The shutter button integrates perfectly with the phone’s camera app, allowing for a single press to take photos and a long press to record a video on iPhone or trigger burst photos on Android.
And the grip is purposefully angled for optimal grip comfort to mitigate sore wrists or awkward grappling for the right hold. The grip packs its two A-grade Samsung battery cells that serve as a wireless power bank to keep your smartphone juice as you snap away.
Shiftcam said the rechargeable batteries afford up to 3x more footage in a day. In addition, it has a swivel that allows you to switch between portrait and landscape shoots. This feature also comes in handy when you are using it as a free-standing charging dock.
That’s right. This little guy is also a wireless charging dock that offers a fixed 75° view angle and the swivel allows you to switch from portrait to landscape viewing with a flip.
