Nissan LEAF NISMO RC Racing Car

There may be an upheaval going over at Nissan corporate, but that is not going to detract one of the most loved JDM from continuing to go fast on the track. Nissan has officially debut the Nissan LEAF NISMO RC Racing Car in Europe at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.

This all-new all-electric race car is going make you wish regular LEAF does not look that lame. Sorry Nissan, I had to be honest. Yes. That track car you see there is indeed a Nissan LEAF, but as interpreted by Nissan Motorsport (NISMO).

Here are what you need to know about this superlative EV race car.

It is all-wheel-drive. It is powered by an all-electric twin-motor drivetrain that kicks out 322 ponies and 640 Nm of instantly available torque, and it is lightning quick, swiping the century sprint (0-62 mph/0-100 km/h) in mere 3.4 seconds.

It will serve as a testbed for future technological evolution as well as a show case of the limitless potential of Nissan electric vehicles.

It is not clear if Nissan will be entering the Nissan LEAF NISMO RC Racing Car into any race. Actually, I don’t really care. What I care is, why the hell the road-going Nissan LEAF does not look this good?
