on the first glance, you may think this is just a mobile sculpture of a giant brain fused into an used car but it is more than that. created by The Netherlands-based artist Olaf Mooji, the Braincar, as it is called, has a camera perched on top of the ‘brain’ that captures and stores images and videos as it travels around in the day, and as night falls, these footages are ‘remixed’ and projected from within this giant brain sculpture. the Olaf Mooji’s Braincar poses the question: what if the car itself has its own conscious? interesting thoughts there. don’t you think so? philosophy aside, the Braincar is no doubt an awesome work of art, though some may perceive it as morbid but i for one, think it is beautiful. the contrasting matte black paint job on the car itself gives it a rather grim mood, while the details that extend from the brain to the car body gives it a seamless feel. join me after the break for a few more images of the Braincar and short clip on how the remixed footages are like as viewed from the outside.
