Super fans of Genshin Impact are going to drool over this. OnePlus China has just revealed a collab device with the popular action RPG game, presented in an overly opulent gift box. Appropriately called OnePlus x Genshin Impact Ace 2 Gift Box [CH], this lavish collab gift box comes with the OnePlus Ace 2 handset with a faux leather back cover in a brand new Lava Red color.
Unfortunately, unlike Redmi 12 Turbo Harry Potter Edition, this Genshin Impact cobranded Ace 2 does not have any element that indicates it is so. It is a missed opportunity, IMHO. It does however, comes with faux stitching, along with textured grips, on either side of the device, which are nice touches that make the device less boring. Plus, it does get a Genshin Impact-themed UI.
The most striking component of this custom gift box is without a doubt the box itself. The box draws its inspiration from the ancient takeaway box. Think of it as the bag of food delivery riders but in ancient times. The box is presented in matching lava red colorway with accents produced with hot stamping and a metal carry handle.
It is a very collectible box that features a special “lock” at the front with the character “Ling” printed on it. Ling here is, of course, Xiangling, one of the popular in-game characters. The “lock” closure is magnetic to ensure secure close while allowing for easy access.
When opened, it revealed a 3D ornament of an ancient with an image of Xiangling and the adorable Guoba flanking it on either side of the box and two low-profile drawers.
The drawers are where you find the handset, a poster of Xiangling presented like an ancient scroll, a Guoba SIM card ejector pin, Xianglin stickers, a bunch of collector’s cards, and a super thick gift box picture book manual. The center of this collectible book is another 3D ornament art featuring Xiangling and Guoba.
The device is offered in the range-topping 18 GB LPDDR5 RAM along with 512 GB UFS 3.1 ROM.
Other tech specs include a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform featuring an octacore processor with up to 3.2 GHz clock speed, Adreno 730 GPU, a 120 (adaptive) Hz 6.74” 1.5K (2,772 x 1,240 pixels) 3D AMOLED flexible display, Consonance Touch display, a dual cell 5,000 mAh battery, 100 W flash charge, SuperVOOC S battery management chip, VC cooling, a 16 MP selfie camera, a 50 MP main camera with OIS, an 8 MP super wide-angle camera, a 2 MP macro camera, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual nano SIM, the usual suspects of sensors, and all the positioning anyone can possibly ask for.
The book for the OnePlus x Genshin Impact Ace 2 Gift Box is open in China with the gift box going for 3,699 yuan [CH], or about US$539 according to today’s rate.
OnePlus also revealed a matching clip-on 27W “ice-point” cooling fan. This Genshin Impact-themed cooling fan features the same red hue and gold accents as the gift box, along with a subtle character ‘Ling’ in a different shade of red. The pre-order price of the fan is 239 yuan (U.P. 249 yuan) (about US$35/US$36). The price with purchase of the phone is 229 yuan (US$33).
