You may know OtterBox for their water-, shock- and drop-resistant smartphone cases, but the 11-year-old Colorado company actually started out making water-resistant boxes. Simply put, it began its life as outdoor gear company and it still is today. The company recently unveiled a new product in its Elevation Tumbler lineup, called Elevation 14 Mug that is designed to keep your morning Joe (or whatever hot beverage) warm and toasty wherever you may be.
Strange that the official press release did not mention the capacity, but I guess you would know if did hit up its booth at the recently concluded Outdoor Retail Expo (June 18-20). In any case, the company described it as “compact size” drinkware that is complemented by a new line of colors and perhaps very importantly, a handle for added grip. Up till now, all OtterBox has to offer are tumblers and so, it is kind of nice to see handle appearing.
The mug is of 100 percent stainless steel with an internal copper lining to preserve the temperature of your beverage, be it hot or cold. It will be available soon (not date given, btw) for $24.99.
At the expo, OtterBox also brought along a new soft cooler called Trooper 12, designed with weekend picnic and sports game in mind. Trooper 12 boasts up to 3-day ice retention and further features a leakproof top, IP66 rated construction, an integrated bottle opener and a mounting system for adjustable drink holder, drybox clip and more. The Trooper 12 is selling now for $199.99.
