We don’t usually talk about screen protector, but here’s one that we thought every mobile phone users should be aware. It is called PURP by New Normal. What makes this screen protector stands out is, it will probably save your vision. How? Simple. By filtering out Blue light. Blue light, if you haven’t already heard, is slowly killing our eyes. This form of light can potentially blind us and it should scares us all because, most of us stared far too often.
To effectively filter out Blue Light, PURP incorporates a layer of 9H NanoTech TGlass to an optically clear layer, before topping it off with a polarized film and an oleophobic coating. All told, PURP adds mere 0.37 mm to your device display and no heavier than 5.7g. The NanoTech Glass is a revolutionary material that is similar to tempered glass, but it won’t shatter. In fact, it is super flexible. This adds impact absorption, thus preventing it from shattering or chipping.
Aside from filtering out Blue Light, PURP does what most screen protector do: it protects the display of your precious device from scratches, shock and even heat. New Normal claims that PURP is effective in blocking Blue Light while enabling up to 94 percent of color and user transmittance. So, if this is were to believe, PURP should not make any difference to your viewing experience. PURP also promised touch responsiveness, UV deflection, and transparency and Retina Display Saturation. In case you are wondering, it is phone case-friendly too.
PURP TGlass Blue Light Screen Protector sells for 24-34 Canadian dollars (about US$18-26) a pop and it is currently available on Kickstarter.
