Wired earbuds are enjoying quite a bit of attention lately—you know it is when even Bose has gotten on board. And while some brands are embracing the simplicity of plugging in and listening, Razer has a slightly different idea. Why settle for ordinary wired earbuds when you can have a pair that lights up?
Folks, meet the Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma, a pair of USB-C gaming earbuds that combines the convenience of wired audio with active noise cancellation (ANC), dual-driver acoustics, and, naturally, RGB lighting.
Under the hood, each earbud packs an 11 mm dynamic driver for bass and a dedicated 6 mm tweeter for the higher frequencies. There’s feed-forward ANC to help keep unwanted background noise at bay, while PC gamers can enjoy THX 7.1 Surround Sound through Razer Synapse.
Speaking of gaming, Razer has given the earbuds a 90-degree USB-C connector. This keeps the cable out of the way when holding a smartphone or gaming handheld in landscape orientation. It’s a small detail, but one that makes plenty of sense.
An in-line remote handles volume, playback, and ANC controls, while an omnidirectional microphone takes care of voice chat and calls.
You also get four preset EQ modes for Gaming, Music, Movies, and Calls, plus a customizable EQ profile. The earbuds are IPX4-rated for resistance against sweat and splashes.
But this wouldn’t be a Chroma product without some colorful illumination. Each earbud features customizable Razer Chroma RGB lighting, with 16.8 million colors and lighting presets. And yes. Even on a thing as tiny as an earbud.
And since they’re wired, there’s no battery to recharge or Bluetooth audio latency to worry about.
The Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma wired gaming earbuds are available for US$79.99.
