i first went gaga over the Atari Xbox 360, that’s because i have yet to see this: a 24k gold plated Atari 2600 console. created way back in 2009 by bunch of folks known as Urchin Associates, this blinged out Atari 2600 was part of a personal project art series dubbed ‘Gold Mine, All Mine’, which includes stuff like the Stingray BMX Bike and Skateboard – all coated in the glorious 24k gold. it’s old school and it’s gold, so what’s not to love about this machine? none, i suppose. no word if this is actually a working console but judging from the joystick, i bet it isn’t. it would probably just go to the hall of fame in some console gaming machine museum. another closer look at the joystick after the break.
