The new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+ promise to deliver the Galaxy Tab experience at great value. Available in two sizes, namely, 8.7- and 11-inch, the new A9 tablets are rocking the biggest screens of any Galaxy A series tablet yet.

The 11-inch A9+ is a workhorse that brings PC-level multitasking to the tablet, courtesy of Samsung DeX, and supports a multi-active window that allows up to three split screens so you can do more.

The larger of the two benefits from a higher 90 Hz refresh rate whereas the 8.7-inch is a 60 Hz item. Both are LCDs, by the way.

Common features include MediaTek MT8781V/CA Helio G99 chip featuring an octacore processor and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 8 GB RAM, up to 128 GB onboard storage, support micro SD card  (up to 1 TB), an 8 MP rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi 5, 4G LTE/5G on cellular model, Screen Recorder function, support for Dolby Atmos, and Samsung Knox.

Beyond the obvious, differentiating the two are the front camera (A9: 2 MP, A9+: 5 MP), the battery (A9: 5,100 mAh; A9+: 7,040 mAh), and strangely, Bluetooth which the smaller A9 gets the newer Bluetooth 5.3 while the larger A9 has Bluetooth 5.1.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+ are available starting now in select markets and in a choice of graphite, silver, and navy. Last checked, it is not in the States yet.

We do not know how much it will sell in the US but in Singapore, the Galaxy Tab A9 has a list price of S$249-329 (about US$181-240) while the Galaxy Tab A9+ goes for S$409-509 (around US$298-371). The pricing is for the 64 GB model. Only the Galaxy A9+ Wi-Fi is available in Singapore at the moment.
