Samsung has a new Galaxy tablet that is targeted at folks who work in demanding environments, i.e. environments that are a risk to your device. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3, as it is called, is designed to meet the rigor of today’s mobile workforce, it remains sleek and portable.
The device, which is outfitted with an 8-inch WUXGA (1,920 by 1,200 pixels) PLD TFT LCD gloves-friendly touch display, is MIL-STD-810H certified to hand take most extreme conditions head on.
Right off the bat, it offers enhanced shock absorption that could shrug off drops from up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) with an inbox protective cover and it is IP68 rated to resist dust and water.
Powering the device is an Exynos 9810 chip, backed by 4 GB RAM and up to 128 GB internal storage. Also onboard is a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, an Active Key for quick access to apps used most often, emergency calls, scanning or Push-to-Talk, and more.
This being geared for businesses, the tablet is optimized for camera-based barcode scanning for inventory management. There is even support for NFC with EMV Level 1 for payment. The accompanying S-Pen is IP68 rated too.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 Tablet is keep juiced by a 5,050 mAh, user replaceable battery. It is available in select market now.
