Samsung Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Ring

For a person who loath the idea of wearing a ring, the idea of a smart ring does not appeal to me a bit. But here it is anyway, the first smart ring from a major player, the Samsung Galaxy Ring. They have been smart rings before but never one from a major player like Samsung.

Anyhoo, this is not the first time the Ring has gone official. It made its debut at CES 2024, and then in an event in February with more details. Today, or rather July 10, at the Unpacked Event in Paris, it is official, official, along with the two most anticipated wearables: Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The latter is a major departure from its predecessor in terms of design and looks suspicious like Apple Ultra. Kinda. But I don’t care. I dig the brand-new squircle form. OK. It is not exactly a squircle; it is like an icon with rounded corners, and ermmm, a squircle side?

The trio of devices is designed to enhance digital health by leveraging advanced Galaxy AI technology to provide comprehensive wellness experiences with personal insights and health monitoring.

The Galaxy Ring simplifies wellness with its unobtrusive design and advanced health monitoring features. Lightweight and durable, it offers 24/7 tracking and insights, including sleep analysis and heart rate alerts. The ring comes in three colors and promises up to seven days of battery life.

The Galaxy Watch7 supports over 100 workouts, offering personalized insights and advanced health monitoring features such as sleep apnea detection, ECG, and blood pressure monitoring. Powered by a BioActive Sensor and a 3nm processor, it delivers a seamless experience. The Watch7 is available in two sizes: 40mm in Green and Cream, and 44mm in Green and Silver.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is designed for extreme durability and advanced fitness tracking. It features a Titanium Grade 440 frame and 10ATM water resistance, capable of withstanding various environments.

With multi-sport tracking and Functional Threshold Power metrics, it supports high-intensity workouts. The Watch Ultra offers up to 100 hours of battery life in Power Saving mode and comes in a 47mm size in Titanium Gray, White, and Silver.

All three wearables integrate seamlessly with Samsung Health and are available for pre-order starting July 10, with general availability beginning July 24.

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra have a pre-order price of US$299.99 and US$649.99, respectively. Meanwhile, the Ring is also available to order for a grand price of US$399.99 (though probably still cheaper than your blood-tainted diamond ring).
