Along with the announcement of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 smartphones, Samsung also took the opportunity to push out some related accessories, including a wireless charger, a variety of protective cases and this Keyboard Cover, which will turn your spanking new Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 into a Blackberry-like device. Samsung did not have an official press release on this, but for those who were at the Unpacked 2015 for the revealing, they get to have a go with this nifty gadget. Keyboard integrated cover isn’t new, but this is the first from a handset maker and it is worthy to note that anything that remotely resembles’ Blackberry, may get shoot down by their legal team. So, it remains to be seen if this accessory will get into some legal tussle. Then again, we are not sure if Blackberry have the muscle to flex at this point.
Anyways, we were super curious when we saw the accessories’ images on the official PR website and dig around a bit. Information is limited, unless you were there to experience it and obviously, we weren’t that fortunate. Anyways, here’s the little information we found: there are two parts to it, a rear protective cover and the keyboard panel. When the latter is snapped onto the phone, the handset’s display will automatically adjust to accommodate the keyboard and when you are done, it can be stowed away on the back. We are not sure if today’s consumers actually need a physical board, but then again, we can’t speak for everyone. In case you do, do keep a look out for this $80 accessory coming your way, though there’s no indicative date on its availability.
