Strangely, I never find myself running out of storage phone on my phone which has 128 GB. I barely scratch 50 percent of what’s available to me. I guess I haven’t been stuffing it with music files (thanks to streaming services) or record enough videos in 4K resolution. In an unlikely scenario that find yourself needing a lifetime worthy of digital asset stored in your smartphone, then SanDisk Extreme microSD UHS-I Card packing a whopping 1 TB is the storage card for you.
First announced back in February, SanDisk Extreme microSD 1TB UHS-I Card is more than just big on storage, it is a card that is built for extreme conditions. This means it is temperature-proof, water- and shock proof, and x-ray proof. Most importantly, aside from its behemoth capacity, it is a UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and UHS Video Speed Class 30 (V30) for 4K UHD rated card that offers read speeds up to 90 MB/s and write speeds up to 60 MB/s. Those are speed essential for heavy duty works like recording and viewing 4K videos. Now for the good and bad news.
The good news is, SanDisk Extreme microSD UHS-I Card, specifically the 1 TB variety, was made available on SanDisk website and listed on Amazon. The bad news is, at the time of this writing, the 1 TB model appeared to be out-of-stock on its website and unavailable on Amazon. The SanDisk Extreme microSD UHS-I Card 1TB sells for $449.99. Yikes. You know how small a microSD card is and how often it gets lost and so, $450 is a sum to shell out if we are going to be all out superficial. Then again, if you have that many data to store and never trust Cloud, then this is it.
