Scorpio Electric X1 Electric Motorcycle

Singapore now has its own electric motorcycle brand, Scorpio Electric. Revealed at the recent Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) in Milan is the X1 Electric Max-scooter, Scorpio Electric’s first electric motorcycle. The specs will not blow minds but it definitely has the look.

Five years in the making, this futuristic-looking scooter is powered by an electric motor with a modest 10 kW output and paired with a 72V 5 kWh battery which affords it to accelerate from 0-50 km/h (31 mph) in 3.8 seconds, a top speed of 105 km/h (65 mph), and up to 200 km (124 miles) range. Recharging takes just 3 hours to take it from 0-90 percent.

The scooter measures 2,125 mm long, 775 mm wide, and 1,212 mm tall (about 7 x 2.5 x 4 feet), and weighs just 185 kilograms (408 pounds), making it a definitive city shuttler.

It has everything a regular scooter has (duh), plus reverse assist, remote release for the seat and charging cover, regenerative braking with user adjustable levels, and a 7-inch TFT screen.

In addition to X1, Scorpio Electric also brought along two concepts. There is Xi, a youthful, compact electric scooter in vibrant colors, and Alpha, a road bike that aspired to be the king of the streets.

The Alpha is the electric motorcycle to look out for if you like the idea of a sports bike. However, we do not have more information on the two concepts.
