Dishwasher is a godsend. It saves you the hassle of doing the dishes after a meal and it is probably more hygienic too since there is no scrubbing of the dishes with a germs-loaded sponge. But it is expensive and it has to be built in. Well, not with the Shabosh.
Shabosh is a new kind of dishwasher that is inexpensive and not only it does not require it to be built in but it also requires no plumbing. Not going to lie. It does sound too good to be true but I am not here to scrutinize its workability. This blog is about featuring emerging and interesting tech, and the Shabosh certainly fits the bill.
Shabosh claims to feature a patented tech that would allow it to clean dishes in 40 seconds and does so using 80% less water and 70 times less power than traditional dishwashers. But be warned. This isn’t your traditional dishwasher either. It is not automatic.
Think of it as a self-serve car wash. You load up the dishes, top up the water reservoir, add your choice of dish cleaner, and proceed to hose down your dishes using the pressure washer.
“Shabosh’s patented, high-pressure washing cycle mixes your favorite soap and water together, atomizing and heating it to the optimal temperature of 149℉ (65℃), then dispenses throughout the pump system so you can clean your dishes thoroughly.”
In addition to hosing down the utensils and cutleries, cups get dedicated pressure washers that clean the inside. Anyhoo, I don’t quite see it as a dishwasher, TBH but rather, as a new way of doing the dishes.

But of course, this being a new product, you have every right to be skeptical. Skeptical if it will actually work as advertised and if it will be delivered at all. That said, this being a Kickstarter project, it has its risks.
