A sound bar alone is not enough for immersive audio experience. That is a fact. Multi-speaker setup is the way to go if you have the real estate to accommodate them. And if you are down, Sony may just have the right gadget for you.
Meet the the Sony HT-A9 Home Theater System. It features Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping Technology that lets you feel sound from every direction and distance.
Using a dual microphones setup, each speaker is able to measure their relative height and position and creating up to 12 “phantom” speakers from the four speakers deliver audio that surround the users regardless of where they are in the room.
The HT-A9 further features support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, Sony’s latest Omnidirectional Block Design for 360 spatial sound, and rectangular X-Balanced Speaker Units. The system also supports Hi-Res Audio as well as 360 Reality Audio.
Obviously, the HT-A9 alone isn’t the complete experience for movies at home. This is where the HT-A7000 Soundbar comes in.
It is a 7.1.2-channel sound bar that boasts 2 up-firing speakers for overhead sound, 2 beam tweeters, no less than 5 front speakers, and a built-in dual subwoofer deep bass.
The HT-A7000 features Vertical Surround Engine, S-Force PRO Front Sound, HDMI eARC and USB connectivity, support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, DSEE Extreme, access to popular music services via Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect, and it also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as Hi-Res Audio and 360 Reality Audio.
