Aroo Travel Sized Vacuum Compressor

Have you tried using vacuum bags to shrink down your clothes with a vacuum to maximum your suitcase space? Probably you have, but I am guessing only when you are leaving home. It is safe to say hotels do no offer you vacuum cleaner for such purpose. I was lucky. The last time I was staying at an AirBnB accommodation in Santa Monica, the host happens to have a vacuum which I could use. But you and I won’t be this lucky every time and this is why there is the Aroo mini bar. No. Aroo is not the name of the mini bar in some hotel. It is a travel vacuum compressor.

As the product name suggests, Aroo has a bar shape and measures just 16 centimeters (or about 6.3 inches) which makes easy to take it with you when you travel. It comes with adapters to fit any retail vacuum storage bag and as a boon, the second generation adapter even replaces the bag’s cap, if you so chose to. You know what? I think that is just about the coolest thing in travel gear. And did we mention that it is battery-powered? Yeah. Its compact stature packs a 2,200 mAh rechargeable battery that powers a motor that offers up to 55 kPa of suction power.

Speaking of power, it has so much vacuum force that it literally crushes a steel paint can from the inside in the blink of an eye. Most household vacuum can’t even do that. Just imagine that much vacuum power in a gadget that fits right into your pocket. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sold. Sure, handy size vacuum compressor isn’t new, but they are mostly hand-powered. I tried that too and all it did was to suck the life out of me, instead of the air from the vac bags.

Like I said, powered travel vacuum compressor isn’t the newest, but what we gathered, this is the most aesthetically pleasing, probably the most handy too – thanks to the bar form, and one that has so much horsepower. If are equally impressed, you can pre-order a unit on Kickstarter by pledging $54 or more. And yes, it goes without saying that the campaign is funded and if all goes as planned, you should be able to enjoy this wonderful travel gadget sometime later this year.
