Oh. You hate the idea of a as-wide-as-your-TV rectangular sound bar? Or perhaps, you just don’t have the console real estate? Well, here’s one sound bar for you – that’s if a sound bar is on your wish list. Called LG Eclair QP5 Sound Bar, it is the brand’s most compact sound bar yet, measuring just 11.7” x 2.4” x 4.9” (29.7 x 6.1 x 12.5 cm).
In spite of super compact stature, it is not lacking of power. LG Eclair is an advanced 3.1.2. channel system, paired to a wireless subwoofer that boasts Meridian Audio’s tuning and technology to “deliver exceptional detail and spatiality.”
This is the interesting bit of Meridian Audio’s part of this sound bar:
“Meridian’s Horizon technology up-mixes two channel stereo content into immersive, multichannel audio to deliver a wider soundstage for a truly immersive listening experience with tonal balance that remains authentic to the original recording.”
Other features include 4K pass-through, support for both Dolby Vision and DTS:X, adaptive LG AI Sound Pro, and of course, 2021 sound bar must-have, HDMI eARC (enhanced audio return channel).
Beyond the specs, it is aesthetically appealing too, sporting a convention-breaking, chic oval design and jersey fabric for the contemporary look. The oval design is probably why it is called an eclair.
An 2021 CES Innovation Award Honoree, the LG Eclair QP5 Sound Bar is making its North America debut for US$599.
