LG GX Sound Bar

Looking to give your LG flat screen TV – specifically, the GX Gallery OLED TV – a boost in the audio department? If so, LG has just the right gadget for you. Meet the new LG GX Sound Bar, a super-slim (but rather tall) sound bar designed to flush to the wall to complement your GX Gallery OLED TV.

The sound bar measures 6 inches high, 57 inches wide and mere 1-1.4 inches (15 x 145 x 3.2 cm) deep to match the width of the 65-inch LG GX Gallery series OLED TV. LG must be selling (or anticipate to sell) a lot of Gallery series OLED TV to be wanting to sell you a specific model of TV-focused sound bar. And it should be a good news for any completionist (LG completionist?).

The sound bar boasts 3.1 channels, and features advanced audio technologies, including Dolby Atmos and DTX:S for three-dimensional audio, as well as Dolby Vision and 4K passthrough.

It comes with a wireless subwoofer for added low-frequency bass and for those who want more, there is an optional LG wireless rear speaker kit. But really, why would any want the clutter? I personally would not.

In addition to the requisite Bluetooth for audio streaming from your small devices, LG GX Sound Bar also boasts eARC that will play well with advanced audio technologies such as Dolby True HD, DTS Master Audio, and it is Hi-Res Audio certified too, for playing back lossless audio at 24-bit/96 kHz with “greater vibrancy and nuance.”

Finally, there’s the built-in LG AI Sound Pro that analyzes and automatically applies best sound settings ignoring the content to ensure maximum listening enjoyment. Wait. Is that the best of ideas? I mean, you do want to speaker to pump out sound based on the content, doesn’t it? Just saying…
