After the Sony ZV-1F, the Sony ZV-E10, and the Sony ZV-E1 vlogging cameras, you would have thought the original vlogging camera from Sony already has multiple successors. Well, no. Those are not. According to Sony, this is the successor: the Sony ZV-1 II.
The new Sony ZV-1 II is Sony Electronics’ newest ultra wide-angle zoom vlogging camera that benefits from a 1.0-type Exmor RS image sensor with approximately 20.1 effective megapixels. The sensor is bolstered by the BIONZ X image processing engine and paired with a newly developed ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 18-50 mm F1.8-4 lens.
The 1.0-type sensor further boasts Bokeh Switch that can create beautiful bokeh by defocusing the background with a single touch. With an 18-50 mm wide angle lens at your disposal, you can frame anything from group selfies to narrow interiors or dynamic recordings of everyday scenes to Multiple Face Recognition.
The latter recognizes multiple faces and automatically adjusts to keep all faces sharp and clear when taking wefies that have two or three people. Meanwhile, optical zoom and Clear Image Zoom smoothly enlarge images while minimizing the loss of image quality.
Other key notables include a vari-angle screen, user-friendly key and control layout, an easy-to-hold body grip, an intelligent 3-capsule microphone, cinematic vlog setting, creative look, face priority AE and soft skin effect, fast hybrid AF system, product showcase setting, 125-12,800 ISO sensitivity, active mode EIS, and built-in ND filter – just to name a few.
Like its predecessor, the new Sony ZV-1 II is compact and lightweight and is designed with content creators in mind, be it vlogging or creating movies. When connected to a PC or smartphone with a USB cable (not included), you can also turn the ZV-1 II into a webcam for high-quality livestreaming.
