Amazon Prime Video Spider-Noir Series

You probably already heard there’s going to be a live-action Spider-Noir. Talk of a live-action Spider-Noir series began in the early 2020s, but there was nothing concrete until sometime in 2023, when Sony Pictures Television announced development of the series with Prime Video and MGM+ attached. Fast forward to February, and we now have our first teaser.

The series stars Nick Cage as the titular character. Personally, I think Cage’s style is perfect for the Spider-Noir image. I don’t care what the haters have to say. Though I have to say that from the teaser, I am picking some artistic flair. Then again, it’s probably how it is since it is Noir style.

Anyhoo, this upcoming American noir superhero television series is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir. Set in 1930s New York City, it follows a burnt-out private investigator, Ben Reilly (played by Nicolas Cage), the city’s only superhero, who is forced to grapple with his past life.

The series cast also includes Emmy Award-winning actor Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, a nightclub songstress and femme fatale, and Karen Rodriguez as Ben Reilly’s assistant detective, Janet.

The coolest part of this series is that it will be available in both color and black & white versions. Each episode will debut in two formats simultaneously: an authentic black & white version paying homage to classic film noir style, and a true-hue full-color version for fans who prefer a modern presentation. Even the teaser, which dropped a couple of days ago, is available in both black & white and full color.
