We don’t do a lot of sauces here. We only do sauces if they’re weird enough, pink, or tongue-scorching hot. Speaking of scorching hot, here’s one sauce that was concocted in the fiery lava pit of the volcanic planet Mustafar. OK. You know I’m kidding, right? There’s no way the Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce by TRUFF was made on the fiery plains of Mustafar.
Oh, yes, the Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce by TRUFF is a thing. There is no kidding about it. Also, it is oh-so-cool despite being a hot sauce. But it may be a cruel jab at Lord Darth Vader because while the sauce is inspired by the Sith Lord, I don’t think he can taste it. Surely, he can’t consume the sauce through feeding straws or get it into his system intravenously through his armor, right? Ewwww. You know what? Let’s not ponder over this potential “gruesome” detail.
As for the taste, TRUFF says the combination of fiery ghost peppers with the richness of black winter truffles is “so alluring, that it’s sure to tempt you to the dark side.” Wait. You meant to say that after all the trouble, all the scheming that Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious went through to get Anakin to the dark side, all it takes is a hot sauce? Now, that’s a huge slap in the face!
Jokes aside, this particular blend was concocted to be the Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce for a good reason. It is TRUFF’s hottest sauce yet, featuring “a symphony of flavors” that surpasses anything the sauce maker has crafted. The sauce is no ordinary sauce by any measure, neither is the packaging that comes with it.
It comes presented in a luxurious collectible gift box – a double-door-style box in matte black with graphics of smoke below. Also on the box is a large Star Wars branding as well as a slightly smaller TRUFF branding, along with the name of the sauce – all in red, to further realize the ominous air this product tries to express. I mean ominous because it is the Dark Side and ominous because it is supposed to be pretty damn hot.
Opening the box reveals a bottle that shares the same design: a sleek, matte black bottle with smoke looming at the bottom, the red Star Wars and TRUFF branding, and the sauce name. And then there’s the crown jewel of the Dark Side (and this collectible sauce): Darth Vader’s helmet as the cap.
