You know it is coming and now, here’s a taste of what is to come this Christmas. The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX is here and along with it, the movie’s name: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. If you don’t already know, episode 9 will be the concluding movie of the Skywalker saga started over 40 years ago. Obviously, having spent $4.05 billion in cash and stock to acquire Lucasfilm, Disney is not about to lay to rest this super lucrative revenue generator that also has an enormous fan base – more so when the franchise’s financial performance to date has been positive.

Star Wars Episode IX Teaser Trailer

In fact, Disney has reportedly earned more than what they have paid for Lucasfilm with three Star Wars movies – The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi. So, what’s going to happen is, story revolving Skywalker will come to an end with The Rise of Skywalker (so, Rey is a Skywalker?) and Disney will take a breather before coming with other Star Wars flicks. It is without doubt TV shows will be one of the focal point moving forward. After all, shows like Game of Thrones have proven that TV series is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Anyways, back to the trailer… teaser trailer, that is… it basically presents to you all the key characters of the film, including protagonist Rey who is already rocking Skywalker’s Lightsaber, Finn, Poe, BB-08, Kylo, and the good’ol (literally) Lando. Late Carrie Fisher will also be in it, as shown in the trailer, but not as a CG character. Instead, her appearance was cut from The Force Awakens according to another Starwars.com. What intrigued us was the sinister laugh towards the end of the teaser trailer. It sounded like Emperor Palpatine. OK. I am pretty positive it was that crumpled face evil dude.
