Star Wars The Phantom Menace 50s Panavision Style

Star Wars was set in a galaxy far, far away where technology was beyond what we had in the 70s when the first movie was filmed. But what if, it was created earlier, like say, in the 50s with Super Panavision 70? Well, imagine no more because, the YouTube channel, Abandoned Films, has made a short trailer on it.

Folks, this is the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace – 1950’s Super Panavision 70. A strangely compelling “trailer” of what The Phantom Menace would be if it was made in the 50s. The result is pretty much Lost in Space meets Star Wars. This creation was made possible with a bunch of AI tools, including Midjourney, ElevenLabs, Runaway AI, and Stable Audio. The clip storyline was scripted by ChatGPT and the video was put together in Premiere.

I can’t say I love it but I can say it is strangely alluring. Abandoned Films have made a bunch of clips using similar methods but I do find this particular clip especially entertaining. I could be biased because it is Star Wars but to be fair, I was never a fan of The Phantom Menace. Anyhoo, look at the video yourself and try not to gasp while you are at it. It is pretty good.
