we don’t post a whole lot of China-based stuff for obvious reasons. but this time round, mobile phone accessories maker Shengo has something that caught our eyes: Starry Series iPhone Case tailored for iPhone 6. the product don’t quite say much about what it is, but the Starry iPhone case is actually a bling-up bumper case, garnished with crystal rhinestone (that’s faux diamond, in case you don’t already know) and is said to be crafted from zinc alloy. we are not going dive into the argument if zinc alloy is actually a good material as an iPhone case.
to be honest, we don’t quite get what Shengo is trying to push. on one hand it says the case is decorated with rhinestones and on the other, we were told that the ring design on these bumper cases each has 108 pieces of CZ diamonds. and by CZ, we presume they are talking about Cubic Zirconia which, though shares similar appearance to rhinestones, is hardly the same as rhinestones. rhinestones are usually made from naturally occurring quartz crystals (so Shengo is right to refer them as crystals), while cubic zirconia are synthesized in laboratories i.e. they are man-made gems. regardless, the product images (which could be renders) looks pretty cool.
anyways, from what we can see, it appears that the Starry Series iPhone Case for iPhone 6 comes in four flavors: yellow gold, black, silver and pink, and each bumper case is decorated with crystals along the sides and along the peripheral of the back’s design, which has a figure of a diamond (no brainer, right?) and a ring. our honest opinion is, the faux diamonds are used sparingly which, though not the real deal, maintains a less ostentatious feel. apparently, these folks can also provide customization to buyer’s requirements and promised “fast delivery time” and “good after-sale service.” no price was quoted though. if you are keen, you can touch base with Shengo to find out more.
