Recently we came across a collectible that may interest superfans of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Note that we specifically said “superfans” because it’s kind of holy shit expensive for a vinyl figure.

Stranger Things Jim Hopper 11.8-inch Figure

The collectible in question is Stranger Things Series “Coffee And Contemplation” Jim Hopper 11.8-inch Figure. It is a vinyl figure designed by super talented artist Yusuke Hanai in collaboration with Netflix and FWENCLUB.

As you can see, the figure is a cartoon version of officer Jim Hopper from the Netflix series. Hanai designed Hopper with a pen thinking about something whilst holding an empty mug in the other hand.

The brilliant thing about this figure is, it looks like David Harbour’s Hopper without actually looking like him.

Not a lot is known about the figure, though. Then again, what else do you need to know other than that it is of vinyl material, stands 11.8 inches (about 30 cm) tall, and has an edition of just 1,000 copies?

Oh, right. The price. It asking for 3,500 Hong Kong dollars, which works out to be about US$446 based on the current going rate. Not cheap by any vinyl figure’s standards, IMHO. Like I have said, you ought to be a superfan to be wanting one.

The price is not the hurdle you have to clear; it looks like the figure is available only on a lottery basis. This means you will have to enter a draw to have a shot at winning a chance to buy it. Well, at least that’s what I interpret it to be.

In any case, the draw, which started on May 26, will end in less than 2 days’ time, on May 30, 2022, at 4 AM (UTC).

The draw result will be announced on the same day the draw ends. Buyers can expect shipping starting in August 2022.
