DC Studios Supergirl Official Trailer
The first full look at Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow suggests a scruffier, space-wandering Kara Zor-El with a tone closer to a cosmic road story than a traditional Superman-adjacent origin šŸš€šŸ¶āš”

You haven’t already heard, there’s a new Supergirl movie. She’s the super cousin who briefly appeared in the 2025 Superman directed by James Gunn—and yes, that’s Milly Alcock. For those living under a pile of Kryptonite, yes, Milly Alcock is the new Supergirl. The official movie name is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and it is based on the 2021 comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

Remember how I said the movie had a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe? Well, I take that back. From the 2:56-minute trailer, it feels more like Guardians of the Galaxy meets Mad Max. Not a bad thing, IMHO, but be prepared for a Kara Zor-El who goes full-on John Wick across the galaxy. Like Wick, it also involves a dog.

She’s basically vagabonding through space and picking up adventures along the way, though in something much darker, much gloomier, and decidedly more cosmic. So no, this is not the usual younger cousin picking up the trade from the older super cousin. She writes her own rules. She is definitely more scruffy and rugged than she appeared at the end of Superman: Legacy.

The film stars Milly Alcock as the title character a.k.a. Kara Zor-El, alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. And no, Jason is not Aquaman here. That’s history. He is Lobo, the Czarnian antihero.
