Suzuki has long been in the business of crafting outboard motors for boats. You might already know about their Micro-Plastic Collecting Device feature. Now, here’s the scoop on something fresh and super exciting: the Suzuki Small e-outboard Motor Concept.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill outboard motor—it’s electric. And not just any electric motor; it’s designed to make your boating experience more accessible by being compact and portable. It measures a mere 830 mm (33 in.) long, 270 mm (11 in.) wide, and 1,150 mm (45 in.) tall with the operating handle unfolded. Yep, it’s seriously compact. Its small size allows you to load both the boat and motor onto a light vehicle.
But that’s not all; here’s the cool part— the battery pack in the Suzuki Small e-outboard Motor Concept can moonlight as a power bank. Charge your smartphone and other USB devices while you’re out and about. Plus, being a Suzuki outboard motor, it’s equipped with the Micro-Plastic Collecting Device to do its bit for the environment—whether you’re cruising on a lake, river, or ocean. The eco-friendly vibe extends to the exterior, which is paint-free, reducing environmental impact.
The entire unit, with the 1,000 Wh battery pack, tips the scales at just 10 kilograms (22 lbs), with the battery accounting for 6.5 kilograms (14 lbs). In terms of power, the e-outboard motor concept delivers a modest 1 kW. Pretty nifty but it is not clear if this outboard motor will be put into production.
