Land Rover has since ceased the production of the iconic Land Rover Defender, but if you have a 2019 Suzuki Jimny, your dream of owning a Land Rover Defender may just come true, albeit one that is very much smaller. Japanese tuner DAMD Inc. has unveiled a new body kit that will turn the new boxy, off-road capable little Jimny into a Land Rover Defender lookalike and boy, is it really a lookalike! The boxy form of the new Jimny, which you either love or hate, provides the perfect blank canvas for this quirky, but I-want-it-somehow car mod. Off-roading is not exactly Japanese automakers’ strongest suit, but that does not stop them from turning out some pretty decent off-roaders. In fact, folks like Suzuki managed to develop off-roaders that weren’t fuel guzzlers like Jeep and Land Rover does while still having the oomph for off-road duties. Speaking of which, one of Suzuki’s most iconic off-roaders is the Jimny, which the marque has been selling since its introduction in the 1970s. There are some who sell used cars and then there is visual effect artist Eugene Romanovsky who, instead going through traditional medium like online classified ad, or selling to used car dealers, created a pretty out-of-this-world video to peddle his 1996 Suzuki Vitara SUV. Yup. That’s right. A Vitara, one of earliest incarnation of SUV by the Japanese automaker. However, the real star attraction of this 21-year-old SUV is not quite the vehicle itself (a ride which he described as his “best friend” for the last ten years. Cute), but it is the VFX-touched video that details its key features including chunky 235/75R15 off-road tires, the 96 HP 1.6L injection engine, a new exhaust converter that would make it “friendly to environment,” and manual gearbox with low gear. i love this conversion. i am not rider myself but the power of Hayabusa has always mesmerized me. so why do i like this so much? i am paranoid about 2 wheelers. being thrown off a bicycle twice in my life time, and ended up in a rather dire situation, 2 wheelers is a nightmare. here comes a dream bike, but in a trike form. what makes this even more alluring is it’s Ferrari-themed, right down to its decals. according to Japanprobe.com, its creator was contacted by Ferrari after they saw the video of his creation, but it is ok if is a one-off fan-only vehicle and he can’t produce sell the clones. so this is really one-of-the-kind. we can only drool over it.
