CaDA Officially Licensed 2022 Suzuki Katana Building Set

Chinese brick-built toymaker CaDA is having a blast with officially licensed products. Following recent collaborations with Arctic Cat, Mercedes-AMG, and Alfa Romeo for its 2022 Formula 1 race car, CaDA has revealed its second collaboration with Suzuki for its iconic Katana motorcycle.

For the uninitiated, Katana is just about as iconic as the brand’s Hayabusa. I won’t be surprised if there will be a Hayabusa building set in the future but for now, it is all about this uber-sporty two-wheeler.

Based on the 2022 Suzuki Katana, the CaDA Officially Licensed 2022 Suzuki Katana (C59021) Building Set uses 1,104 pieces to realize a 1:6 scale replica of the legendary sports bike.

In order to achieve realism, the set boasts a number of specially molded parts, including the set-exclusive replica of the iconic blade fairing.

The model further features brand new brake disc, brand new front shock absorber, a detailed decal of the instrumentation, print brand plaque, a replica of the 999cc inline-4 engine with moving pistons, a functional 3-speed gearbox, a functional kickstand, and synchronized handlebar and front wheel steering.

Both the front and rear suspension features internal spring to mimic the shock absorption and rebound of real-life suspension. In addition, the engine block is transparent, allowing you to admire the beauty of moving pistons as you push the model around. You may play with the functional gear, switching between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, and witness the switching of the gears inside the open gearbox.

The completed model can stand on its own, thanks to the functional kickstand. However, it also comes with a repair station that features a bike stand with roller wheels, and a front wheel holder with an integrated brand plaque on a Technic-style platform.

When completed, the model measures 35.1 cm long, 13.7 cm wide, and 21.8 cm tall (13.8 x 5.4 x 8.6 inches). With the repair platform, it measures 41.9 cm long, 16.7 cm wide, and 23.5 cm tall (16.5 x 6.6 x 9.3 inches).

The CaDA Officially Licensed 2022 Suzuki Katana (C59021) Building Set is available for pre-order in China via the toymaker’s official store on Tmall.com [CH]. However, pricing has not been announced. Recommended for ages 8 and up. This is not the first collaboration between CaDA and Suzuki, btw. Previously, the two brands have collaborated on the Japanese marque’s small off-roader, Jimny.
