It is taking a dip into the fashion world too, starting with the FES Watch U and this: a pair of sneakers called 247 v2 Concept by New Balance. OK. Maybe Sony is not expanding into fashion. What it really wants is to showcase the possibilities when you combine technology and fashion, and the concept New Balance kicks is the other piece of fashion-tech marriage that will help to push the notion forward. Fans of Evangelion is going to dig this. New Balance Japan has announced a collaborative sneakers collection with the cult mecha anime. Yes! It is happening… again! how does the road to London looks like? we won’t know for sure but New Balance might hold the answer in the form of its Spring/Summer 2012 “Road To London” collection. the collection marks London’s event of the year, which is the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and features New Balance footwear in different variations. the classy colorways and materials of the 574 duo’s with its obvious “The Road To London” tags might be alluring but they could not distract us from the 420 and 574 that were splashed with different color combinations from the iconic Union Jack with a little touch of gold. according to VIACOM IT, these kickers are handmade by its Flimby factory, which incidentally also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. the upcoming New Balance ML71 “Rasta” fuses the technical performance of its Minimus range of running shoes with a retro-licious and casual upper. needless to say, the “rasta” colorway draws our eye to it in an instant and the color combo kind of remind us of Bob Marley, and the whole reggae movement in general. don’t you think so? we are not shoes guru, so we shall spare you the agony of reading through our subpar shoes technicality. design-wise, the shoes features suede and mainly mesh nylon upper that works pretty well with the rasta tricolors. no words on the pricing but we hear that it will be hitting the stores sometime early 2012. a few more look after the break.
