SEAT Made CUPRA A Standalone Brand, Unveiled A 670HP CUPRA E-Racer And A 296HP CUPRA SUV

If haven’t already heard, SEAT has split out CUPRA model to be an independent brand – probably as a show of its resolution in turning out performance rides. The first vehicle to bear the CUPRA badge is Ateca, a sporty SUV that, unlike most SUV, is no slouch in the performance. With 300 PS (about 296 horses) from its 2.0 TSI motor, the CUPRA Ateca has well over 100 horses over SEAT Ateca which, coupled with SEAT 4Drive traction system and a new 7-speed DSG gearbox, allows it wipe the century sprint in just 5.4 seconds and reach an un-SUV top speed of 152 mph. SEAT Unveils Its Very First SUV, ‘Ateca’, At Geneva Motor Show

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Maserati is not only company that unveil its first SUV. Volkswagen-own Spanish SEAT too, has its own and it is called Ateca. You bet SEAT is proud of it. So much so that it has a usually lengthy press release about Ateca. Not surprisingly, it has a tint of Tiguan’s silhouette, but that does not make it any less attractive. Come’on the Tiguan is a pretty hot looking SUV, is it not? Anyways, I always thought the VW as an Android OS while SEAT, Skoda and the likes are much like UI overlaid over it. SEAT Lopped The Top Of Ibiza CUPRA, Turns It Into Ibiza CUPSTER

now, here’s something refreshing coming from SEAT: an Ibiza CUPRA with the roof chopped off. the SEAT Ibiza CUPSTER, as it is called, is an one-off project car based on the Ibiza CUPRA, so basically it is the CUPRA less the roof and boy, it is looking pretty awesome. powered by the same 1.4 TSI engine, producing 180PS and coupled to a DSG dual-clutch gearbox, the Ibiza CUPSTER’s visual difference is not limited to the roofless design; overall, it is much lower and wider, which gives it the extra sporty appearance and it also loses the windscreen, giving it an extremely low profile look. in place of the windshield is a wraparound strip window and on the inside, the seating is 80mm lower than the series-production car, that should keep the bugs out of the occupants’ faces.
