Howe & Howe Is Back With A Leaner And Meaner Sport Tank Called EV3-F1

What has a 1,500 horses 727 cu-in HEMI engine and is capable of tearing through any terrain with blunt, brute force, leaving behind track marks? Well, it is certainly not a Jeep. Neither is it a Chrysler, or Dodge. In fact, those rides will be deemed tame by what you about to witness here: Ripsaw EV3-F1 Single Seater Super Tank. Now, do not mistaken this with the Ripsaw EV3-F4, which is a four-seater. This baby here is a solo ride and you know what that means. It means you can do whatever the hell you like when you are behind the wheel. And you will want to do whatever the hell you like because, it is the most extreme and most terrain dominant Ripsaw to date. The Volvo V70 Turned “Tank” That Has Us Enthralled Is Now On The Block

Remember the one person who took “Volvos are built like a tank” a little too literally and in the process, puts smile on a lot of people faces? Well, apparently, it is has been put up on the block for the sake of Ben Charity. As it turns out, this thing is located in Loughborough, the U.K and the seller has listed it on eBay in a no reserve auction. In case you are interested, it will ship to U.K., the U.S., and Australia, and at the time of this writing, it has garnered 35 bids which push the price to a modest £2,300. The car, or rather the “tank,” started life as a year 2000 Volvo V70 Estate and it was created for a charity run for the best five driving roads in the Alps which it emerged as the winning car out of the 40 other rides in the Bangers for Ben 2017 charity run. One Person Took “Volvos Are Built Like A Tank” A Little Too Literally

You know how people used to say old Volvos are built like tanks? The saying was probably stem from the marque’s proven track record of survivability in accidents – thanks to the company relentless pursuit of safety since the 70s. My dad used to own a Volvo 200 series that hailed from the 1980s and boy, were the doors thick like a tank’s armor (figuratively speaking, that is) and while thankfully, we did not met with any accident, I can only imagine the ultra thick door probably would have stood up to most impacts. Anyways, as it turns out, someone may have took the aforementioned saying a little too literal by turning his (or was it her?) V70 into a road-going tank, or at least, one that bears an uncanny resemblance to a tank. Continue reading One Person Took “Volvos Are Built Like A Tank” A Little Too Literally

High Schooler Built A Drivable Scale WWII Tank That Actually Shoots

Building a tank by a non-military contractor is nothing new and is building a scale, drivable tank, but a scale drivable tank by a person who’s barely out of his teens? Well, that is something new. What you see here is a 1:2.5 scale ‘replica’ of the WWII-era Pershing Tank built from the ground up by an 18 year-old YouTuber who called himself MacroMachines. We can’t figure out what drives the tank; it is a gas engine for sure, though, however, we leave it to you to find out from a sped up process of the build, along with a bunch of footage taken from the lengthy 14 months build. Israel’s Next-Gen Tank, Carmel, Needs Just Two Crew To Operate

If there’s one thing Israel is known for, it would be the country’s striving military industry. The country’s military sector has turned up quite number of military hardware that have well proven their worth. Among those hardware is the Merkava Main Battle Tank, a fearsome armored fighting vehicle that was tailored made for the Israel Defence Force. But, however it has proven itself, the Merkava time must come to an end in face of emerging threats and when it eventually does come to an end, the Carmel platform will be its successor. Kurdish Peshmerga Rolled Out Homemade Tanks To Fight ISIS

If the movie Mad Max is anything indication of a desolated future, then that future is probably here already. The basis of such apocalyptic future usually involved armed fighters conjuring up their own defenses and weapons, and in the case of Kurdish Peshmerga in Iraq, they are doing exactly the same: rolling out homemade tanks converted from trucks and other vehicles and equipping with them heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, and even missile launchers. This Is T14 Armata, Russia’s First Robot Tank With Unmanned Turret

As far as tank design goes, the newest main battle tank of Russia, the T14 Armata developed by long-time tank manufacturer UralVagonZavod, is nothing radical. It looks like what a tank supposed to be (and what a T tank supposed to be), but beneath that thick wall of armor is a rather interesting tech that allows this tank to go unmanned… but only on the turret (at least for now). Yeah, I find it rather odd too. If we read correctly, this means that T14 still needs to be driven by someone into the battle, while its fully automated 125mm main gun can be operated without a gun team. If that’s the case, it is indeed a strange proposition because therein lies a coordination issue. Continue reading This Is T14 Armata, Russia’s First Robot Tank With Unmanned Turret

Russia’s First Armored Fire Truck Has T-72 and T-80 Tanks’ DNA In It

This is what you get when a tank maker decides to make a fire fighting vehicle. Simply referred to as Special Fire Fight Vehicle, this tank-based fire fighting machine is the product of Russia state-owned engineering company Omsktransmash, or Omsk Transport Machine Factory in English. Omsktransmash does not specifically build tanks though; it’s main business dealing is to give old Russian designed tanks new breath of life and because of this, it is able to conjured up a fire tank based on the parts and components from T-72 and T-80 tanks. So, technically speaking, it is a tank that’s designed to save than kill. Continue reading Russia’s First Armored Fire Truck Has T-72 and T-80 Tanks’ DNA In It

This Insane Tank-body Fire Truck Uses MiG-21 Jet Engines To Fight Fire

Technically speaking, the fire truck you see here is not a fire truck; it should be called a fire tank jet, or jet fire tank, because it is actually a Frankenstein creation that composes of a WWII-era Russian T34 tank with a pair of MiG-21 fighter jet engines bolted on top of it. As you can see, the turret is no longer in existence and in its place, are jet engines good for 27,000 pounds of thrust each. And what the hell are jet engines doing atop of a tank? Well, to fight fire, of course, by the power of the immense gust kicked out by the MiG-21 jet engines. Continue reading This Insane Tank-body Fire Truck Uses MiG-21 Jet Engines To Fight Fire

Ripsaw EV2 Luxury Super Tank Has No Big Gun, But Does Jumps and Drifts

Not everybody has the luxury of owning a tank like Arnold Schwarzenegger does, but then again, who needs a hulking piece of war machine that you can’t even shoot for real? I mean, it is not legal right?
