Takara Tomy Adamas Machina AM-T03 Star Saber
Takara Tomy's Adamas Machina lineup welcomes Star Saber, and this premium Transformers collectible has more going on than its striking die-cast armor. The 241 mm-tall Autobot transforms into a V-Star jet, combines with the smaller Saber robot, and includes a clever dummy core that lets you display both characters separately.

Takara Tomy’s ambitious Adamas Machina line, which debuted in 2024, has welcomed another member. Following Rodimus Prime and its Lost Light redeco, as well as Predaking and its redeco, the premium collectible series now has a new addition: the AM-T03 Star Saber.

Also known as Transformers Takara Tomy AM-T03 Autobot Star Saber, this latest entry brings the legendary Autobot commander from Transformers: Victory into the premium collectible series, complete with intricate mechanical detailing, die-cast parts, and a rather impressive transformation system.

And boy, does he look magnificent.

Interestingly, the AM-T03 Star Saber is based on the design of Flame Toys’ Kuro Kara Kuri Star Saber, which Takara Tomy has completely reengineered into a transforming figure. In other words, it takes the elaborate styling of the Flame Toys collectible and adds the transformation and combination gimmicks that Transformers fans would expect. It’s a feat that has become a hallmark of the Adamas Machina line.

Standing 241 mm (9.5 inches) tall in robot mode, Star Saber sports a heavily reimagined design that emphasizes mechanical complexity while retaining his recognizable red, white, and blue appearance. Various metallic finishes and carefully distributed die-cast components give the figure a substantial, high-end look.

True to the character’s origins, the smaller Saber robot combines with the larger body to form Star Saber. The entire assembly can also transform into the V-Star jet, with Takara Tomy redesigning the internal structure to accommodate the transformation and combination mechanisms without sacrificing articulation.

Speaking of articulation, there’s plenty of it. The shoulders can swing, the chest bends forward, the fingers are individually articulated, and even the wings feature movable sections. All of which should make it rather satisfying to recreate Star Saber’s heroic poses.

And what’s a legendary Autobot commander without his weapons?

The AM-T03 comes with the massive Saber Blade, two Great Swords, a V-Cosmo Shield, and a Saber Gun for the smaller robot. Interestingly, the Great Sword scabbard has a concealed gimmick that allows it to double as a blaster.

There’s also a dummy core called the Saber Cartridge, which allows the larger Star Saber body to remain assembled even when Saber is removed. This means you can display both robots simultaneously without buying another set. A welcome touch, considering the price of admission.

Additional weapon arms and mounting points allow the various accessories to be attached across different configurations, minimizing leftover parts.

The Takara Tomy Adamas Machina AM-T03 Star Saber is available for pre-order through Hasbro Pulse for US$499.99, with shipping expected around July 26, 2027. But if you insist on procuring itself direct from Japan, it is available from Takara Tomy Mall (through Buyee) for 49,500 yen (tax included) [JP], with shipping starting late June 2027.
