J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is not just a story. Like Dungeons & Dragons, it is an adventure that begs to be experience and as such, it only makes sense to turn it into a tabletop game, and the The One Ring Roleplaying Game Second Edition is exactly that.
Coming from Sweden-based Free League Publishing, The One Ring Roleplaying Game Second Edition, as the name implies, is the new edition of the roleplaying game based on The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
In this new edition, it brings players further into the Twilight of the Third Age with a new hardbound volume, featuring:
• A set of updated and streamlined rules, developed thanks to years of players’ feedback and raising the game to the standards of quality that have made Free League so popular.
• A new setting to experience – the Lone-lands of Eriador in the year is 2965 of the Third Age. This is a vast land that once saw the glory of the North Kingdom of the Dúnedain.
• A complete visual redesign of art and graphics, offering a view of Middle-earth that is fresh and familiar at the same time.
Basically, it is a must-have for any tabletop roleplaying game enthusiasts and super fans of LOTR.
The new edition is created by game designer Francesco Nepitello in collaboration with Free League Publishing, creators of award-winning tabletop RPGs such as ALIEN, Forbidden Lands and Tales from the Loop.
